Movement
Go outside and step feet hip distance apart, arms by sides. Breathe in and reach arms out to the side up to the sky. Breathe out to lower arms back down by sides. Repeat 5 x’s.

Go to a curb and step up and down, leading with the R foot 20 x’s. Repeat with the L foot. (Challenge: run up and down)

Face away from curb, feet wide and toes turned out. Squat down to drop bottom to curb, or as low as possible. 10 x’s. (Challenge: jump up when standing up) Click here for a sample of movements

Stretch and Breath
Start on hands and knees, lift hips up to inverted “V,” or Downward Dog. Reach R foot forward to outside of R hand, bend R knee, and drop L knee to ground. Take 3 deep breaths. Return to Downward Dog and repeat with L foot forward. Return to Downward dog. Repeat 6 x’s.

From Downward Dog drop hips to plank and lower to the ground. Place hands by ribs, fingertips under shoulders, elbows rolled in to hide ribs. Lift head; lift chest without help of hands; then use hands to lift higher. Hold this back strengthener or Cobra for 3 deep breaths, release and repeat 2 x’s. Return to Downward Dog.

From Downward Dog walk feet forward to hands, roll up slowly with nose the last to arrive. Click here for a sample of Stretch and Breath

Option is to use the wall. Click here for a sample using the wall

Sit cross legged on the ground or in a chair and connect with sound:

Breathe mindfully for about a minute.
Set your intention. For example, “May deep listening reveal richness and awe in my life.”
Breathe mindfully for a few more breaths.
Shift attention from your breath to the sounds around you, paying attention to them and allowing them, without judgement or preference, to be there.
Listen to all that reveals itself: soft, loud, pleasing, annoying, even the space between the sounds. Welcome each sound with deep intention.

Why C change?

June 20, 2018

Ten years ago, Cyoga was the only yoga studio in High Point. My goal was to get more yoga in High Point, and I am so excited that today that goal has been reached. We now have four more yoga studios in High Point and more classes being offered at fitness facilities in the area!

“The greatest teacher is always a student.” I believe whole heartedly in this quote. The 6000-year-old path of yoga and constantly evolving science of exercise is always calling me to explore the latest research and learn more. I have been on my yogic path and in the fitness industry for almost 25 years and with a strong interest in continuing education, I decided it was time to pursue another degree. I was also sad that my youngest child was going to school and the needs of a mother was changing. So maybe I was using this to divert my sadness as well. However, education is always a great investment, so I decided to enter an Associate Degree Program in Therapeutic Massage.

During my studies over the past two years, I learned more about Anatomy, Business, Ethics, Movement, Psychology, Pathophysiology and the list continues. The program opened my eyes to a new vision for health and wellness. I began researching and consulting family members, friends, and professional designers to help with a new name, new logo, and new brand.

After a year of research, C change, LLC, was formed.

C change also known as sea change means a profound or notable transformation. The logo is a lower-case delta from the Greek Alphabet. It means to change. The brand of Cchange, Cpeace Cyoga has changed to Personal Wellness Studio for self-health and hands-on-health. Self-health includes group and private practice in mind/body methods such as yoga, pilates, TRX, and personal training. Hands-on-health includes various methods of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

To change one must move and to move one must change. Through self-health the body can be changed by the individual’s exploration of mind/body exercises, breathing, and movement. Hands-on-health provides the individual with change through hands on bodywork.

C change now consist of two spaces. The top space freshly painted in a calming blue is for self-health and the second-floor space with earth tones is for hands-on-health. These two spaces encompass the Personal Wellness Studio. We hope to provide a safe, judgment free, personal space to help the participant explore their personal and uniquely individual mind/body connection to better health.

“In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few,” Shunryu Suzuki. I invite you to make a move, change, and be a beginner at something new!

I have worked with Cece for over 7 years--both personal training and yoga. As a person who doesn’t naturally enjoy exercise (but realizes the value of it as I age), I can truly say that Cece’s method of instruction inspires me to want to show up, participate and do my best. No two sessions are ever alike and the apparatus she uses varies every session, which keeps it interesting. I would highly recommend Cece to anyone who is looking for a reputable instructor . . . especially if you need a little extra motivation.
- Cindy Jarrell

I have found Cece to be an excellent instructor. She researches her workouts and tailors them to the class and/or individual. She knows the science and mechanics of physical training. She also pushes you to your potential. She is a talented and professional trainer/yoga instructor. She went back to school to learn massage therapy and again studied and learned extensively to become a knowledgeable and expert massage therapist. - Harry R. "Frosty" Culp

The classes and instructors at Cyoga make me WANT to exercise. I always feel challenged, which is very important to me, and I also feel right at home! Pilates with Sherry is my happy place! - Claire Brinson
